To make sure you take in the tide with your new suit season after season, please be sure to follow our care tips.
TIP NO. 1
ALWAYS HAND WASH. Rinse your suit out in cool water as soon as possible after wearing. Even if you did not get in the water, your suit can come into contact with many elements that can cause damage such as sunscreen, oils, sand, etc. It is always best to wash your suit after any type of wear to keep it as fresh as possible. To wash your suit, place it in a sink or bowl of cool water (do not use a washing machine) and wash with a mild detergent, ideally one formulated for fabrics with a high spandex content. We love this eco friendly bikini wash, Bikinis Over Everything (& it smells absolutely amazing). Gently knead the soapy water into the suit and let sit for around 10 minutes before thoroughly washing the suit of all the soap with clean cool water.
TIP NO. 2
ALWAYS LAY FLAT TO DRY. Lay your suit flat to dry in the shade on a soft surface such as a towel. Do not ring out your suit or hang it to dry as this can cause stretching and damage to the fabric and shape. Drying your suit in direct sunlight is also harmful as it can cause discoloration, your suit will still get dry in the shade. Avoid the dryer as high heat can alter the shape, fit, and color of your suit.
TIP NO. 3
AVOID ROUGH SURFACES. While our fabrics are durable they are still delicate and soft. Try your best to always put down a towel or throw on a cover up before sitting on a rough surface (concrete pool edges, wood benches, etc.) as they can potentially pull and snag the fabric. We also recommend being cautious of your suit coming in contact with any SPF, tanning creams/oils, and chlorine as these are also substances that can cause damage and why it is so important to wash your suit after every single wear.
